Dance Music
Dance music is a set of songs, tunes and other forms of music composed as accompaniment for dance. Dance music can also be used to facilitate dancing. Songs and tunes belonging to this category can either be a full song or just a portion of a musical arrangement.
Like other music categories, dance music also comes in other kinds and genres. The pace, beat, rhythm, intensity and melody of each dance musical piece depends on the kind of dance that it intends to accompany. Slower dances require slower dance music, while faster ones require faster music.

Examples of which are minuet and waltz.
Dance music from the Baroque period and the Classical music era are part of the Romantic music period, which also includes dances like mazurka, polonaise, ballet and barcarolle. During this period, dance music was also part of the Opera.
There are also other dance music genres that emerged throughout the dance music history. There's jazz, R&B, disco, electronic, techno, hip-hop, rock and roll and many others.
Dance music is usually played in bars and discos. Some radio stations also adopt dance music format as the actual station's format or genre or in particular radio segments or time slots. This music category is popular among different age groups, though these age groups usually go after dance music in different genres and subgenres.
